'Ard Boyz Regionals: Part II

In this installment I will take a look at what I would run using the Chaos codex.
I will also throw down a sample Blood Angel army I would choose to run if I had my druthers and may just build for the fun of it later in the year.
With the chaos codex having several years of boiling down behind it...expect a much shorter article than the list formulation of the Space Wolf list.

Pretty standard for Chaos Marines. I probably differ in my thinking from some by taking the Slaanesh sonic marines over plague marines. But taking the sonics gives me a few more options. I also know that don't make many FnP saves. Additionally,  the sonics can move and shoot very well. They also can be tasked with mowing down annoying units that I don't want to waste my Zerks on from a nice 24" range. The Blast Masters give me two  48" S8 Ap3 blast templates that can hunt infantry (or mech in a pinch). The goal here is to allow the  Oblits to focus more on tank hunting.
Plenty of templates for when lash can bunch up a squad or two. Failing that, the Oblits can open a can and the Sonics can target the spilled contents.  Zerkers do their thing and work with lash to pull units into assault range, etc.
Combi-meltas and havoc launchers are for "bonus round" shooting. I could drop them all and squeeze in the 9th Obliterator. I find this to be 6 of one, half dozen of another though.
The benefit over the space wolf list...I have much less to mess with to get ready. I really only need to put wings on a DP and convert 5 or 6 Oblits.

BA DC 2500 Points:
I just like this list.
Many may not feel it is very competitive. I would love to build it if I had the time and give it a shot.
I love Death Company...they are like how the Bezerkers should be...and 1 point cheaper.
The only thing that would make them complete would be Fleet and an ability to control Rage when led by an IC.

The multi melta attack bikes and preds pop cans and shoot down anything that tries to lead my DC astray. I have no need to waste points on a priest to keep a FnP bubble, the DC carry it with them. The mix of bolters and Bp/cc is for wound allocation shenanigans....and because the Legion of the Damned models I would use to represent these thugs come with bolters for the most part.
You could drop a dred and put a bunch of power weapons in there if you want. In that case you could buy 8 pwr wpns to put two in each squad and a melta bomb somewhere.
Astorath will mainly protect your scouts. You could also hang a dred back if you combat squad your scouts..though he will try to leave quite a bit.  Replacing a DC dred and one attack bike will give you a Furioso Dred granting a psychic defense if you can't leave home without it.
Basically, your shooting is sufficient and the 32 death company and 3 death company dreds fleeting at your opponent will keep the shots off your tank hunting units. The army is quite fast. Faster than people think until too late if not familiar with Blood Angels.
For those not in the know. BA rhinos are Fast, meaning they can move 18" a turn and still pop smoke. DC are relentless. DC dreds have fleet and ignore stunned and shaken results. The preds are also Fast. Meaning they can go 18" and pop smoke, 12" and fire one weapon, or 6" and fire it all. Astorath has a jump pack and the scouts can infiltrate or outflank.  Your dreds run behind the rhinos getting cover..and if you feel the need the rhinos could also move up behind the greater front armor of the preds.
I am not worried about taking more than two objectives with this army. Most of my army will be in the opponents grill turn two. The list can scale down pretty easily to 2000 or even 1850.
