Received an email asking what I would take to 'Ard Boyz if I were to bring my Orks out of retirement.
So, I took a minute and also thought about what would make me cringe if I saw it across the table from either my Chaos list or my Space Wolf ard boyz lists.
'Ere we go:

Army Notes:
* Would not play the army unless I took the time to make magnetized movement trays for the troops.
* Big Mek goes with Troop 3 in center
* Warboss goes with Snikrot to create hate and havoc in the back field.
* Rokkit buggies/trakks initially benefit from force field then hunt armor or provide distraction or blocking maneuvers. They can also be used to block line of sight of enemy infantry, as bait, and draw of any enemy units with rage special rule. Surrounding vehicles prior to poring rokkits into them is my personal favorite.
* I prefer shootaz over slugas due to the amount of S4 Assault 2 firepower they can dish out. The army is deployed with the two squads with rokkits forward (Behind Kans or Trakks) and on either side of the Big Mek. The squads with big shootas take up the rear guard and center with Mek.
*Always place your objectives mid field if able (As you always move forward with this list) and move towards enemy. Run early, shoot later. About 300 S4 shots will kill just about anything out in the open.
*Obviously Rokkits hunt armor and kans are your heavy hitters...if you still need them by the time they get there.
*Always remember to keep a few members of each squad within 6" of the mek for the cover save.
I would not like to see this list versus my Space Wolf list. Even with the SW firepower I don't think I could stop it all and would probably get blown off the table.
The chaos list may fare a bit better with Lash sending a few units here and there and Bezerkers do nasty things to Orks if the momentum is in the right direction.
Thanks for the read,
BDS
Are Stormboyz ever worth taking? I have a mob of 20 of them - I know they were considered a point sink in last edition, but what about now? Is it worth my time to paint them up?
