Monday Morning List: GK with SW allies 2000pt


Having trouble getting into work this Monday, so decided to post a list I have been tweaking for some time now.
The list is heavy infantry, heavy shooting, with several distraction units. I had this list in early stages prior to 6th and looks like it will fit in quite nice now that infantry and high rate of fire is back in.

So, what do we have here?

 
An infantry horde that buffs itself with and without roles on the divination table. The best psychic defense in the game currently, save Njal. 

3 Distraction units in the Solodins and Lone Wolf. A reasonably hard hitting counter attack unit. A lead storm of infantry shredding firepower. 7 Scoring units, 8 when heavies count as scoring, 8 when fast count as scoring (hence some of the decision to include those units). 

A nasty surprise for enemy psykers or units containing psykers. The psyocculum on the second Inquisitor makes any squad she joins as BS 10 when firing on psykers or units containing psykers….so Hit on 2/ Reroll and Hit 2…so basically never miss.

This is why plasma cannons are in the second Henchman squad with servitors. Since you take wounds on closest model to center of the blast…..you can snipe what you want in such units.

But wait, what if facing no psykers…well you are just fine..25pts is not much for this ability with the psyker-o-rama that is 6th edition.

You also have monkeys boosting 5 troop squads for greater range, rending 5+ invul, better armor etc. depending on the roll with two abilities from the table.

Can take standard powers or give Prescience all over the place.

There are in the list: 10 Lascannons, 10 Multimeltas, 10 Heavy flamers, 5 plasma cannons, 5 Heavy Bolters, 17 plasma guns, 2 missile launchers, 12 Bolters, 3 Large Templates (2 at S5, 1 S7 AP2), and 30 Storm bolters…all hiding where needed behind an Aegis defense line and going to ground for 2+ save when needed.

Solidins and Lone Wolf move forward to stem assaults and tie up what you want and also make use of challenge rules.

This list can ignore fliers and/or shoot them out of the sky with just volume of fire. You may wish to take less plasma guns and sub in flamers or meltas…have at it..same points for both for henchman.
