So, I continue to tweak my list. I wanted to add some ranged fire power to the list without losing too many of the existing elements.
First, even thought the tournament allows dual force organization charts I decided to forgo utilizing that rule. Though I may face some nasty combinations, and the temptation to take armies with 6 squads of Long Fangs or 8 Deamon Princes etc. does illicit a devilish tingle to my imagination I decided to keep it simple and build a list that can be easily readjusted to standard 2000 point games.
Thus, Ezekiel is out and I removed one MM AB. This netted me enough points to squeeze in 3 Land Speeder Typhoons sporting 3 Heavy Bolters and 3 Typhoon Missile Lanuchers.
This will give me some punch long range and a chance to beat up on big uglies before they get too close. I plan to keep the speeders close to the power field generator for a 4+ invul or maximize the range to shoot but not be shot, relying on the resiliency of a vehicle squadron and opponents lack of range.
When able I will cast prescience on the unit to make them all that more killy.
Just after one game with this type of army and I have learned model placement is a skill you must master. While it is fairly simple, it is a tad challenging to plan your move, keep all the buff bubbles maximized, keep the correct range and do so in a reasonable amount of time for your turn. Add to this some blessings and maledictions and you can spend some time with all this, which you need to cognizant of in a tournament.
